NEUROSCIENCES II - BIOMARKERS FOR ALCOHOL AND DRUG
ABUSE
Objectives
- Evaluate the use of imaging technologies for the assessment of receptor changes in the
CNS and the evaluation of subjects in clinical trials based on receptor responses
- Gain an appreciation of the state of the art in using brain imaging techniques as
biomarkers of addiction
- Understand the advantages of computerized cognitive testing in clinical trials
- Achieve an appreciation of antecedent markers of vulnerability to alcohol use and
markers of current use
- Consider the application of statistical modeling issues involved in integration of
multiple domains into an index biomarker
