Spike Duzor

Mr. Duzor serves as a liaison between the research communities and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data release procedures. He is Chair of the CMS Privacy Board and participates on numerous CMS and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) workgroups overseeing data release and privacy issues. Mr. Duzor is also a member of the DHHS Data Council and was part of the DHHS team that helped develop the HIPAA privacy rule. He is the Project Officer for the Research Data Assistance Center contract, a major effort undertaken by the CMS to help researchers obtain and understand Medicare and Medicaid claims data to support their research activities. Mr. Duzor obtained a master's degree in government with specialization in public administration from the University of Maryland.
