Valerie Hurt

Ms. Hurt is a Senior Attorney in the Office of the General Counsel, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). She represents and advises the NIH on various matters, including confidentiality and privacy, human subjects protections, information quality, and biotechnology activities. Before coming to the DHHS, Ms. Hurt practiced health care law in the Washington, DC, office of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo. She also served on the staff of the President's Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments. Ms. Hurt earned a B.A. degree from Rice University and a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia.
