Abstract Submission
Abstracts are to be submitted online through the workshop registration page along with the presenting author's meeting registration. The deadline for abstract submission is February 23, 2005. Please submit your abstract in either Microsoft Word or WordPerfect format.
Please note: Abstracts accepted for poster presentation will be reprinted for distribution in the workshop briefing book and posted with other workshop documents on public websites. Authors should consider whether sensitive or unpublished findings are appropriate for such distribution.
Abstract Preparation
The following information is required for abstract submission:
- Title of abstract.
- Presenting author name, institutional affiliation, e-mail and mailing addresses, and phone and fax numbers.
- Use of a structured format is strongly encouraged. Please include the following sections: Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
- Text only (300 word limit) that describes the research. Charts and other graphics will not be accepted.
Abstract Review
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Poster Session Committee, which reserves the right to accept and reject abstracts for inclusion in the workshop. The number of abstracts that will be accepted is limited by available space.
Abstract Notification
Submitters of abstracts for poster presentation will be notified by March 1 if their topic is also selected for an oral presentation.
Poster Presentations
For planning purposes, poster space will be approximately 48-inch x 48-inch (two posters per side of a 48-inch x 96-inch poster board), and posters will be mounted using pushpins, which will be provided. Please plan to use only the poster board space. No Internet connection, tables, or chairs will be provided for poster displays.
Recommendations to enhance the readability of posters include using 2-inch to 3-inch title lettering, numbered figures, and 14-point caption text.
Posters selected for presentation will be exhibited Thursday, March 17, in the Crystal Ballroom at the Hyatt.
Posters should be set up on Thursday, March 17, before 7:30 a.m. or, if necessary, during the 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. break on March 17.
Posters should be taken down after the evening reception on Thursday, March 17, by 8:00 p.m.
Please contact Angelique Raptakis at angeliquer@md.capconcorp.com or (301) 468-6004, ext. 411, to request a poster board with an electrical connection.
