The goals of the NIH Nanomedicine Roadmap Initiative are to 1) obtain a comprehensive set of measurements on molecules and assemblies of molecules, and use those measurements to understand molecular pathways and networks, and 2) use that knowledge to drive the design and development of new nanomachines and technologies to improve human health.
To launch this initiative, NIH will support Nanomedicine Development Centers. Publication of a solicitation is anticipated early in April.
This meeting will serve as a public forum:
- to provide additional information to potential applicants about the solicitation,
- to discuss the current NIH vision for Nanomedicine Development Centers, and
- to receive comments from the scientific community on that vision.
This web site provides additional information on current plans for the Nanomedicine Roadmap Initiative, as well as the agenda, registration site, and details regarding lodging, security measures on the NIH campus, local transportation, and other useful information for the May 4 public meeting.
The ideas expressed at this public meeting will help to shape the Nanomedicine Roadmap Initiative, and interested individuals are invited to participate, at this early stage, in formulating this exciting NIH program.
Attendance at this meeting, while encouraged, is not a prerequisite for responding to the solicitation.
